buat pembuli dan pengganas

pukullah dia
lebih kuat dari dia memukulmu tadi
..dan tunggu
pukulan balas lebih kuat lagi daripadanya.
Teruskan pendirianmu

Teruslah berperang
moga berbahagia

sakiti dia
dengan kesakitan yang lebih perit
..kemudian tunggu dia membalas
agar kau lebih sakit lagi
Teruskan menyakiti

Teruslah berperang
moga berbahagia

Fitnahlah dia dengan kata-kata
yang lebih merangsangkan
daripada kata-katanya terhadapmu tadi
..kemudian tunggu pula
perkataan seterusnya dari dia

...
Impian besar, senapangpun besar
lantas ingin capai keamanan?
..kelakar besar

On Friday I watched 'Hotel Rwanda' at the Asia-Europe Institute, UM. It was one of the films screened by UNHCR and ICRC to increase awareness about refugees. Hotel Rwanda is based on a true story and tells of the conflict between two slightly different looking group of people living in Rwanda. I don't even know if they're the same race or not, but one group is the Hutu and the other the Tutsi. The difference in appearance is so minimal that even among themselves they had to rely on identification documents to determine which is which.

Anyway, the story dwells around this Hutu guy; Paul Rusesabagia who runs a Hotel Milles Collines and who is married to a Tutsi. During the time of conflict when the Hutus rule and killed hundreds of thousands of Tutsis; Paul's establishment, from a 4-star hotel turned into a refuge camp for more than a thousand of (mostly) Tutsis and Hutus not wanting to be involved in the conflict and, of far more importance; not wanting to be slaughtered. Long story short; Paul and his hotel 'guests' soon succeeded in getting behind the line of the Tutsi rebel army; the designated good guys in the film.

As of today, most of Paul's guests are safe I presume. I just hope that the Tutsi rebels, seemingly getting the upper hand in the conflict won't start slaughtering the Hutus as a means of getting a payback. As it so happens; the Paul guy is now living in Belgium, so there's no telling whether or not peace has been achieved in Rwanda.

Human beings are suckers for getting a payback. After what happened to the NY Trade Center, I believe the Americans have killed and/or cause the killings of more people than the 9/11 tragedy did. All in the name of justice. And all in the name of peace. The terrorists have responded with their beheadings and suicide bombers.

And all this will not stop until lots and lots more people die. Or until someone is big enough to say, "let's stop this. Because we're better than that. We're better than them..."

Well, dream on.
